To validate a file, click on the Tools menu and choose the Validate menu option, or click on the Validate icon in the File Operations Toolbar.
Validating a folder validates all schemas and instance documents in that folder. If the folder is recursive (the default), XML Console will also validate all schemas and instance documents in every subdirectory in that folder.
Valid files are listed with a white star in the Valid column. Invalid files are listed with a red star. Files that have not yet been validated are listed with a question mark. Folders have no Valid icon.
For detailed reports on your schemas and instance documents, open the Project Report pane. The Project Report pane contains lists of valid and invalid schemas, valid and invalid instance documents, a list of the discovered errors for each file, and saving and printing options.
